Applejack Nails

Hey everypony!

So today ah'm gonna teach y'all how to do Applejack-inspired nails.

Y'all will need these polishes:
Bottom/top coat
Orange polish (Sally Hansen Sun Kissed)
Red polish with a thin brush
Yellow polish with a thin brush (or a design pen if you can find one. Ah couldn't.)

First, do the clear bottom coat. Ah honestly just learned about doin' this a little while ago and it works so great to prevent chippin'.

Then, do a coat of the orange.

Let that dry completely. And ah mean really completely. Ah waited about an hour between each color which weren't much fun for me, but it helped a lot.

Then on each nail, do a stripe of red.
Ah realize that the orange and red I picked were close together in color, but if you squint hard y'all can see it, right?

Once that's dry, do smaller lines of yellow over the red stripe and some horizontal lines across the top of the nail.
Ah'll be honest, this is hard. Ah messed up on mah own nails a lot and ah'm still not perfectly proud of them.
But if y'all can manage to get a look you like, great for you!
Good luck!

Twilight Sparkle Cupcakes

Hello again everypony!

Today we'll be making cupcakes inspired by Twilight Sparkle. and in true Twilight fashion, I had a meltdown while making these because something didn't go quite right. (but to be honest that happens every time)

You will need:
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg
red and blue food coloring
1/2 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp vanilla
white whipped frosting
pink sprinkles

First, mix all the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder) in a large bowl together.
Then, mix all the wet ingredients (vegetable oil, buttermilk, egg, vinegar, and vanilla) in a second bowl. Add the food coloring to this until it makes just the right shade of purple as Twilight's coat. I used about 7 drops of red and 6 drops of blue.
Mix the two bowls together.
Once everything is mixed, pour it into your cupcake pan. Just one pan, 12 cupcakes total.

I know my liners are fish. This is where my meltdown came in, when I realized I didn't have any paper ones. These are silicone and are actually better, but they don't quite go with these cupcakes.
Bake your cupcakes for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Once your cupcakes have cooled, mix blue and red food coloring into white frosting to get the color of Twilight's mane. I used 6 drops blue with 4 drops red.

They look better in reality, but the flash was on my camera and ruined the color.
Top with some pink sprinkles. Try to get them in a line like the stripe on her mane, if you can.

And that's it! Purple velvet cupcakes, inspired by Twilight Sparkle. I hope everypony enjoys them!

Cupcake recipe was modified from a recipe found on The Stubbie Chef.

Fluttershy Nails

hello everypony. this time we're doing Fluttershy nails.

I mean, if you want to do them. it's okay if you don't.

You'll need:
Base/top coat (Sally Hansen)
pale yellow polish (NYC Color 265 Lemon Cream)
pale pink polish (NYC Color 180 Cotton Candy)

first use the base coat.
Paint your nails with the yellow. You might need to do two coats. I'm sorry the picture has the nails a little smudged, I'm not very good at this.
Then you can draw a diagonal line across the nail with the pink color. this is a little tricky, so if your line ends up a little wavy, it's okay.
finish it with the top coat.

here's a better picture of the finished product.
I really hope you like this, but if you don't, that's okay. Thanks for reading.
